## New Movies Streaming

### Hamnet (2025)
Before you rush off to Wikipedia to confirm, know that any evidence that William Shakespeare’s play *Hamlet* was inspired by the death of his son, Hamnet, is purely speculative. While the film offers a fictionalized account, the painful story of Anne (Jessie Buckley) and William’s (Paul Mescal) personal tragedy feels deeply authentic.

**How to watch:** *Hamnet* is currently streaming on Peacock.

### It Was Just an Accident (2025)
Iranian director Jafar Panahi faces possible prison time if he returns to Iran after directing this film. The story revolves around a group of former Iranian political prisoners who believe they have found their captor and tormenter years after their confinement. Panahi has repeatedly faced punishment from Iranian authorities even for his least political films, so this scathing critique of Iran’s authoritarian regime unsurprisingly angered its leaders.

**How to watch:** *It Was Just an Accident* is available on Hulu.

### The Secret Agent (2025)
Set in 1977 Brazil, *The Secret Agent* follows a researcher (Wagner Moura) trying to escape death by fleeing his home and reuniting with his son. While the premise sounds grim, director Kleber Mendonça Filho manages to inject a sense of vitality into a story about life under authoritarianism—making it as engaging and even as entertaining as such a subject can be. Moura, in the title role, effortlessly combines suave charisma with the ever-present anxiety lurking beneath the surface.

**How to watch:** *The Secret Agent* is streaming on Hulu.

## New TV Shows Streaming

### Arrested Development (2003–2019)
Oh, come on! Despite acquiring the streaming rights to *Arrested Development* more than a decade ago and producing two additional seasons in the 2010s, Netflix is set to lose the rights to this beloved FOX sitcom on March 15. If you don’t already own the show on physical media, it’s well worth spending the next 10 days rewatching the first three seasons before bidding them goodbye.

**How to watch:** *Arrested Development* is currently streaming on Netflix.

### Vladimir (2026)
Steve Carell’s new HBO show *Rooster* doesn’t debut until Sunday, but luckily there’s another fresh series that delves into infidelity and the inherent drama of life on a contemporary college campus. In Netflix’s *Vladimir,* Rachel Weisz stars as an unnamed women’s literature professor grappling with the challenges of teaching in 2026. Meanwhile, a burgeoning scandal involving her husband and department colleague (Boston native John Slattery, *Mad Men*), who is about to be fired for numerous past student-teacher relationships, adds additional tension.

**How to watch:** *Vladimir* is streaming on Netflix.
