Ayala, Thai partner bring Makro back to the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Grocery chain Makro is making a comeback to the Philippines after nearly two decades. This time, the Ayala group and its Thai partner will take the lead in bringing the brand back to the market.

Unlike before, the revived Makro stores will feature modern facilities and will no longer be exclusive to members. This shift aims to attract a broader customer base and enhance the shopping experience.

On Wednesday, Ayala Corp. subsidiary ACX Holdings Corp. signed a partnership deal with a Thai firm to formalize the collaboration and move forward with the relaunch of Makro in the country.
