A man was found shot and killed early New Year’s Day in New Cassel, Nassau County, homicide detectives reported.
Police officers responded to Railroad Avenue near Siegel Street shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered the unidentified 51-year-old male victim at the scene.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the early morning homicide is ongoing. Homicide detectives are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
