Pennsylvania State Police charged a New York man with possession with intent to distribute marijuana after a traffic stop Friday in Lackawanna County, according to a criminal complaint. At about 11 a. m. on Friday, troopers spotted Maalik Dahan Al-Ziadi, 24, of Syracuse, driving north on Interstate 81 near Clarks Summit with tinted windows and an expired registration. Police conducted a traffic stop on Al-Ziadi in Benton Twp. as he continued to drive north. According to the criminal complaint: Troopers noted signs of criminal activity, and a search of the vehicle yielded 4 pounds of marijuana. Al-Ziadi admitted the drug was his. He is charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was was released on $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9: 45 a. m. on Dec. 9 before District Judge Kipp Adcock.
