Joe Tirado on why System Era Softworks is making Starseeker instead of Astroneer 2

Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions is the next game from System Era Softworks. While it’s an expansion of the Astroneer universe, it’s not “Astroneer 2.” Why not? Well, we spoke with a developer to get an answer. We interviewed Joe Tirado, Marketing and Communications Director (and former Shack Staff member) to learn more about Starseeker. During the conversation, he talked about changing genres in the same universe. Astroneer is a survival exploration game, while Starseeker is an action adventure title. He also talked about the studio’s decision to make a spin-off title rather than a proper sequel to Astroneer.
