Nashik: MSEDCL’s Special Campaign For PM Surya Ghar Scheme Runs Till Oct 2
MSEDCL is conducting a special campaign to promote the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme from September 17 to Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2.
As part of this initiative, an awareness van has been prepared in the Nashik district with the collaboration of MSEDCL and Preet Charitable Organisation. The van aims to directly raise awareness about the scheme by conducting interactive sessions called “SolarPe Charcha.”
The solar awareness van was officially flagged off by Sundar Latpate, Chief Engineer of the Nashik Circle, at Vidyut Bhawan on Tuesday. By showing the green flag, the team initiated the campaign to educate the public about the benefits of the Surya Ghar Scheme.
Several dignitaries attended the inauguration ceremony, including Nashik Board Superintendent Engineer Rajesh Thul, Assistant General Manager Chandrakant Khade, Deputy Chief Industrial Relations Officer Pramod Rajebhosale, and Executive Engineers Chetan Wade, Jagdish Jadhav, Anil Jhaktare, and Nandkishore Kale. Also present were Manager Hemant Bhamre, Public Relations Officer Vikas Aadhe, Assistant Legal Officer Ranjit Bommi, and representatives from Preet Charitable Organisation, Dr. Sharad Bodke and Shashikant Bodke, alongside numerous officers and employees.
The Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme has been well received so far. To date, 25,343 customers in the MSEDCL Nashik Circle have installed rooftop solar systems with a combined capacity of 58.25 MW.
During the ongoing Seva Parva, MSEDCL is intensifying its efforts through this special campaign to encourage more electricity consumers to avail themselves of the scheme. Chief Engineer Sundar Latpate has appealed to all electricity users in the region to take maximum advantage of this opportunity.
Breaking down the installations, the Nashik Circle has 14,545 customers, the Malegaon Circle has 1,685 customers, and the Ahilyanagar Circle has 9,113 customers who have installed solar systems.
Through these collective efforts, a total of 25,343 customers across the Nashik Circle have contributed to promoting renewable energy by adopting solar power with a capacity reaching 58.25 MW.
MSEDCL remains committed to expanding awareness and implementation of sustainable energy solutions under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme to support a greener and more energy-efficient future.
