The San Francisco 49ers rolled past the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at State Farm Stadium, securing a 41-22 victory. While the 49ers can celebrate a dominant performance against a key NFC West division rival, the team is also managing some injury concerns coming out of the game.

Starting linebacker Tatum Bethune exited early with an ankle injury and did not return to the field. Similarly, 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro left the game due to a hamstring injury and was unable to return.

Following the game, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan provided updates on both players’ injury statuses. Shanahan shared that the team believes Pineiro may have pulled his hamstring, but they are awaiting further testing on Monday to confirm the extent of the injury.

“No, I mean, we think he pulled it, but not sure, we’ll have to check tomorrow,” Shanahan said.

Regarding Bethune, Shanahan was unsure if the linebacker suffered a high ankle sprain. Like Pineiro’s situation, the organization will get a clearer picture after additional testing scheduled for Monday.

“Not sure. He wasn’t able to come back, so you always worry about that. We’ll have to check tomorrow to see if it was high ankle,” Shanahan explained.

In other injury-related news, defensive lineman Robert Beal was ruled out due to a concussion. Cornerback Upton Stout briefly left the game with a stinger but was able to return. Linebackers Curtis Robinson and Luke Gifford were both evaluated for concussions as well, but both were cleared and returned to play.

On a positive note, the 49ers finally enjoyed the return of starting quarterback Brock Purdy during Sunday’s game. After missing the previous six games and eight of the team’s first 10 games this season, Purdy was sharp in his comeback.

“I thought he did a good job. Made some good plays in there, ran the offense real well. Real good first game back,” Shanahan said of Purdy’s performance.

Purdy finished the game completing 19 of 26 passes for 200 yards and three touchdown passes, leading San Francisco to a resounding victory.

Looking ahead, the 49ers will host the Carolina Panthers (6-5) for a “Monday Night Football” matchup in Week 12 of the NFL season at Levi’s Stadium. San Francisco currently holds a 2-2 record in home games for the 2025 season.

Stay tuned for more 49ers updates and highlights as the season progresses.
