It was a sweet victory for Jasmine. The medical student was crowned the winner of season 16 of *The Great British Baking Show* finale on November 7.

The final leg of the Channel 4 competition, released as part of collection 13 on Netflix on the same day, saw Jasmine and fellow finalists Tom and Aaron face off in three challenging rounds: Signature, Technical, and Showstopper. The Signature challenge featured classic British iced finger buns, the Technical challenge required them to bake French Delights, and the Showstopper tasked them with creating the largest cake in *Great British Baking Show* history.

Jasmine’s win wasn’t without its ups and downs. Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith initially deemed her buns “too flat.” However, she redeemed herself with a stunning showstopping creation — a cardamom sponge layered with raspberry, almond, lemon mascarpone, and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream cake.

The competition with Aaron and Tom was close, but in the end, the 23-year-old emerged victorious. Following her emotional win, Jasmine exclaimed, “Oh my goodness I am just so overjoyed! When I was in the middle of exams and trying to bake while I was trying to learn, it’s been so much. But I have done it and I am just so unbelievably happy and to have done it with such an awesome group of people.”
