The owner of business magazine *Entrepreneur* has filed a lawsuit against Meta Platforms in California federal court, alleging that the tech giant misused its content to train artificial intelligence systems. The lawsuit was reported on Thursday by Blake Brittain of Reuters.
According to the lawsuit, Entrepreneur Media claims that Meta copied its business strategy books, professional development guides, and other instructional materials to train its LLaMA large language models, which are then used to generate competing content.
Entrepreneur CEO Ryan Shea criticized Meta’s actions, stating, “Rather than licensing or even purchasing copies of Entrepreneur’s work, Meta—one of the largest, most well-known, and wealthiest corporations in the world—chose to simply take it. Stealing is not innovation, and taking decades of copyrighted works to train artificial intelligence is still stealing.”
As of now, spokespeople for Meta have not responded to requests for comment on the matter.
