**Gurugram: ‘120 Bahadur’ Sparks Protest; Yadav Community Demands Title Change**

Members of the Yadav community in Gurugram staged a protest on Sunday, demanding a change in the title of Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film, *120 Bahadur*. The community argued that their ancestors made significant sacrifices for the nation and insisted that the title should be amended to *120 Bahadur Ahir*. Protestors threatened to boycott the film if their demand was not met.

The movie, starring Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC), is based on the true story of the Battle of Rezang La (1962). However, the Yadav community claims that the film’s current title and portrayal downplay the crucial role played by Ahir soldiers during the battle.

### Community Response: Highlighting Overlooked Contributions

At a mahapanchayat held near the Kherki Daula toll plaza, members of the Yaduvanshi (Ahir) community voiced strong opposition to the film. Speakers at the event argued that the teaser for *120 Bahadur* unfairly focuses on a single soldier, neglecting the collective bravery of the Ahir troops who fought valiantly as part of the 13 Kumaon Battalion.

They demanded an accurate representation of the courage and sacrifices made by Ahir soldiers, emphasizing that their role should be properly acknowledged in the film.

### Roadblocks and Calls for Accountability

Protestors even blocked roads to draw attention to their demands. Community leaders also urged the filmmakers to screen *120 Bahadur* prior to its scheduled release on November 21, 2025. They recommended that the screening be held for the martyrs’ families and representatives of the Ahir community to ensure historical accuracy and respect for those who died.

The mahapanchayat gathered ex-servicemen and village sarpanches from Gurugram and nearby districts, all of whom pledged their support for this cause.

### Title Criticism and Warning of Boycott

Community leaders criticized the film’s title for undermining the contributions of 114 martyrs from their community, warning that it distorts the historical record of the 1962 war. Colonel Mahabir Yadav (retd) issued a stern warning that this issue transcended cinema—it was about protecting the honor of the martyrs.

The resolution passed at the mahapanchayat emphasized that the story of the Ahir martyrs of Rezang La must be told truthfully, without distortion for cinematic effect.

### Film Details

*120 Bahadur* is directed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banner Excel Entertainment, in collaboration with Amit Chandrra of Trigger Happy Studios.

The Yadav community continues to stand united in their demand for recognition and respectful portrayal of their ancestors’ heroism in this important chapter of India’s military history.
