This 1982 Jaguar XJ6 was reportedly used as a dealership demonstration vehicle before being acquired by the seller’s grandmother in February 1983. Since then, it has covered approximately 80,000 of the 83,000 miles shown on the odometer.

Equipped with a 4.2-liter inline-six engine, this Series III XJ6 underwent servicing in 2024. Maintenance included replacing the spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, thermostat, air flow meter, and oxygen sensor to help ensure continued reliability.

Finished in Portland Beige (AEA), the Pininfarina-styled bodywork was repainted in 2012. The exterior features a classic Leaper hood ornament, a power sunroof, power antenna, power-adjustable side mirrors, bright trim, and dual exhaust outlets. The car rides on 15″ Kent vented alloy wheels fitted with GT Radial Champiro VP1 tires. Braking is managed by ventilated front discs and solid inboard rear discs.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed in brown leather upholstery with burl wood accents on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Comfort and convenience equipment include front bucket seats, automatic climate control, power windows and locks, cruise control, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 5,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature.

The seating surfaces remain in good condition, although a June 2024 service invoice recommends replacing the front seat padding. Additionally, a June 2024 inspection noted that the brake hoses should be replaced. At that time, the driver’s front wheel bearing was adjusted, and a brake fluid flush was performed.

The 4.2-liter inline-six engine was factory rated at 205 horsepower and 231 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a BorgWarner three-speed automatic transmission. A June 2024 service invoice noted a transmission pan gasket seep, and the oxygen sensor was replaced in July 2024. The same month, a rough idle and hesitation during acceleration from a stop were documented.

This Jaguar XJ6 is offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner. Included with the sale are the owner’s manuals, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title. The Carfax report confirms no accidents or reported damage.

This well-maintained example of the iconic Series III Jaguar XJ6 represents a blend of classic British luxury and style, with thorough recent servicing that helps preserve its drivability and charm.
