Apple TV is set to adapt Arrowverse creator Marc Guggenheim’s comic series *Last Flight Out* into a feature film. This upcoming adaptation, based on the acclaimed Dark Horse graphic novel, marks a significant collaboration between Apple and Chernin Entertainment.
*Last Flight Out* follows the story of a father and daughter trying to reconnect as humanity faces the end of the world. The graphic novel, illustrated by Eduardo Ferigato, was created by Guggenheim and has garnered critical acclaim for its compelling narrative and striking visuals.
Apple Original Films has acquired the rights to develop the movie in a deal reportedly worth seven figures. The project will be developed in partnership with Chernin Entertainment, with production expected from Peter Chernin and David Ready for Chernin Entertainment, alongside Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg for Dark Horse Entertainment.
Sam Hargrave, known for directing action-packed films such as Netflix’s *Extraction* franchise and Apple TV+’s *The Last Frontier*, is currently in talks to direct the adaptation. Hargrave’s involvement is anticipated to bring a dynamic edge to *Last Flight Out*, further elevating the project. He is also expected to produce the film. This project marks a reunion for Hargrave and Apple, following their collaboration on the upcoming John Cena-led film *Matchbox*. Hargrave is represented by WME.
Marc Guggenheim, best known as one of the creators behind the Arrowverse, continues to expand his portfolio across both film and television. Recently, he sold three pilots within six months and serves as the writer and executive producer on Netflix’s forthcoming film *An Innocent Girl*.
Chernin Entertainment has recently signed a first-look feature deal with Apple and has contributed to several projects for the streaming service, including *Chief of War* and *See*. With *Last Flight Out*, the company adds another promising title to its growing slate of high-profile projects.
