Conservative commentator Michael Knowles criticized Democratic New Jersey Senator Cory Booker during a Tuesday Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for what he described as a contradiction in Booker’s stance on violent political rhetoric.
The hearing, titled “Politically Violent Attacks: A Threat to Our Constitutional Order,” saw Senator Booker condemn political violence on both sides of the aisle. He emphasized the importance of “self-introspection” in addressing the issue.
Knowles acknowledged that Booker “made a good point” about the need for inward reflection. However, he highlighted what he sees as a contradiction: Booker’s continued endorsement of Democratic Virginia attorney general nominee Jay Jones. As of October 6, Booker had not withdrawn his endorsement of Jones, Fox News reported.
“I can’t help but think of a line today: ‘Jay Jones has the vision, commitment and integrity to keep families safe and make sure every Virginian gets a fair shake in the justice system. I’ll be working every day to ensure Jay wins this race,’” Knowles stated.
“That’s the endorsement of Senator Booker for a man who seeks to be the attorney general of Virginia,” Knowles continued.
