Bangladesh’s young cricketer Saif Hassan has expressed strong confidence in his team’s ability to reach the final of the ongoing T20 Asia Cup. His optimistic outlook follows a stellar performance against Sri Lanka in Dubai, where he scored a quick-fire half-century to help Bangladesh secure a crucial four-wicket victory.
### A Strong Start in the Super Four Stage
The win against Sri Lanka marked a robust start for Bangladesh in the Super Four stage of the tournament. Opening the innings, Saif showcased his aggressive batting prowess by scoring 61 runs off just 45 balls, anchoring the innings and guiding his team to a competitive total.
### Confident About the Final
Speaking after the match, Saif said, “Yes, definitely we are confident of reaching the final. Before coming here, everyone believed that we would play the final.” He acknowledged that while Bangladesh is one step ahead, there are still two more matches to be played.
### Match Strategy: A Counter-Attacking Approach
Following the early dismissal of Tanzid Tamim for a duck, Saif and fellow opener Litton Das adopted a counter-attacking strategy to stabilize the innings. Their 59-run partnership kept Bangladesh ahead of the required run rate, giving the team momentum.
Saif added another 54 runs alongside half-centurion Towhid Hridoy. Reflecting on their approach, he shared, “There wasn’t a very specific plan, but we held a team meeting and decided to counter-attack after Tanzid’s wicket fell.”

Saif also commended Mustafizur Rahman for his exceptional bowling display. “Mustafizur Bhai’s bowling is always good. He has been in very good shape for the last few months,” Saif said. “Today, he gave away very few runs and took wickets at vital moments. He is a World Class bowler, so these situations are easy for him.”
