**Strategy Holds 640,250 BTC, Representing 2.5% of Bitcoin’s Total Supply**

Corporate Bitcoin giant Strategy may be preparing for another major Bitcoin purchase, according to recent remarks from Executive Chairman Michael Saylor. As of October 13, Strategy’s holdings reached 640,250 BTC, which accounts for approximately 2.5% of Bitcoin’s total supply, making it the largest corporate holder of the cryptocurrency globally.

**Rapid Capital Deployment into Bitcoin**

Michael Saylor shared in a podcast interview that Strategy can convert up to $100 million of raised capital into Bitcoin within just one hour. This fast turnaround time distinguishes Strategy from traditional sectors that often take much longer to deploy capital and deliver returns.

“We could do a billion dollars of capital raising in a day and be fully done [buying Bitcoin] by 6 pm,” Saylor explained. He also noted that the company can execute trades ranging from $50 million to $100 million per hour, allowing for scalability without significant delays.

Strategy uses a real-time model enabling quick capital conversion, unlike traditional investments such as real estate, oil, or technology, which typically require months or years to mature.

**Hints at Future Purchases Despite Market Volatility**

Despite Bitcoin trading lower than the previous week, it remains significantly higher year-to-date. As of October 20, 2025, Bitcoin was trading above $110,000, according to CoinMarketCap.

Saylor hinted at potential future purchases with a comment on social media but did not disclose specific figures. Historically, Strategy’s large Bitcoin acquisitions have often contributed to short-term upward movements in the cryptocurrency’s price. Market analysts closely watch the company’s activity as a strong indicator of growing institutional interest in Bitcoin.

**Real-Time Treasury Model**

Saylor highlighted the uniqueness of Strategy’s investment approach compared to other sectors, emphasizing its fast liquidity. “We’re open for business every day with four credit ATMs,” he said. He added that transactions involving hundreds of millions of dollars in assets can be completed in under a minute.

This model allows Strategy to build its Bitcoin holdings in real time. Unlike real estate, where assets need to be developed before producing returns, the company’s process involves selling convertible debt or equity and using the proceeds to purchase Bitcoin within hours. This creates collateral and potential returns almost immediately.

**Response to Criticism Over Bitcoin Exposure**

Strategy’s aggressive Bitcoin investment strategy has attracted criticism concerning shareholder dilution and exposure to cryptocurrency volatility. However, Saylor dismissed these concerns, stating that some investors do not fully understand the business model.

“The equity investors value the company based on BTC yield and appreciation per share,” he explained. He further added that credit investors focus on returns in dollar terms, while the firm effectively swaps traditional currency returns for Bitcoin-based yields using Bitcoin as collateral.

Saylor described critics as “strategically ignorant” for overlooking how the business operates.

**Continued Expansion of Bitcoin Holdings**

Since beginning its Bitcoin acquisition journey in October 2020 with an initial purchase of 20,000 BTC, Strategy has steadily increased its holdings. The company often capitalizes on periods of Bitcoin price weakness to make significant purchases, reinforcing its position as a major player in the institutional Bitcoin market.
