VIDEO: Driver Of Puja Khedkar’s Father Arrested By Navi Mumbai Police In Road Rage Incident

The Navi Mumbai police have arrested the driver of former IAS probationer Puja Khedkar’s father in connection with a recent road rage incident involving the abduction of a truck driver, a senior official confirmed on Saturday. However, Dilip Khedkar, Puja Khedkar’s father and also wanted in the case, remains absconding.

According to the police, the incident took place on September 13 on the Mulund-Airoli Road in Navi Mumbai. A concrete mixer truck driven by 22-year-old Prahlad Kumar reportedly brushed against a Land Cruiser, which led to an argument between Kumar and two occupants of the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that Dilip Khedkar and his driver, Praful Salunkhe, forcibly bundled Kumar into the SUV and transported him to the Khedkar family bungalow in Pune. Based on technical tracking, police followed the SUV to Pune and successfully rescued the truck driver from the bungalow. During the rescue operation, Puja Khedkar’s mother, Manorama, allegedly obstructed the police from entering the premises.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Dahane stated, “We have arrested Khedkar’s driver Praful Salunkhe, who was involved in the abduction.”

The Rabale police have registered a case under Section 137(2) (kidnapping) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused, including Dilip Khedkar, who is currently evading arrest. Additionally, Pune police have filed a case against Manorama Khedkar for allegedly obstructing the police and have issued a notice to her.

Puja Khedkar herself is embroiled in controversy, accused of misrepresenting facts in her application for the 2022 UPSC Civil Services Examination to obtain reservation benefits. She has denied all allegations against her.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has taken several actions against Khedkar, including filing a criminal case for attempting to appear in the civil services exam under a false identity. The Delhi Police have also lodged an FIR against her for multiple offences.

The controversy surrounding Puja Khedkar intensified after her appointment as a probationary IAS officer. Last year, a video surfaced showing her mother threatening a farmer. Manorama Khedkar was subsequently arrested in connection with that incident but was later granted bail.
