UK’s First State-Funded Hindu School, Krishna Avanti Primary In Edgware, Rated ‘Outstanding’ By Ofsted
**Krishna Avanti Primary School Achieves ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted Rating Across All Areas**
Krishna Avanti Primary School, the UK’s first state-funded Hindu school located on Camrose Avenue, Edgware, has been awarded an **“Outstanding”** grade across all inspection areas in its latest Ofsted evaluation conducted on June 24 and 25, 2025.
The inspection report singled out the school for excellence in teaching, leadership, and environment. According to *Harrow Online*, inspectors praised the school’s collective vision of educating “spiritually compassionate changemakers” — a philosophy embraced by pupils, staff, parents, and trustees alike.
Ofsted highlighted how students “thrive” regardless of their background, consistently meeting high expectations and achieving success across all areas of study. The school environment was described as “calm and productive,” with pupils demonstrating courtesy, respect, and responsibility.
Leadership opportunities such as the school council, arts council, and ‘eco warriors’ were also recognised for fostering a nurturing and caring school culture.
The report commended the school’s broad and ambitious curriculum, with particular emphasis on early literacy and mathematics. Teaching staff received praise for their “strong subject knowledge” and consistent instructional quality.
For pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), inspectors noted the school’s targeted support framework, which ensures every learner can fully access and engage with the curriculum, as reported by *Harrow Online*.
Principal Shriti Gadhia described the outstanding outcome as a “testament to the dedication, passion, and hard work” of the entire school community — including learners, staff, parents, and stakeholders. She added that the rating endorses their commitment to providing a safe, high-quality education aligned with the school’s core values.
Avanti Schools Trust CEO Dr James Biddulph MBE welcomed the achievement, crediting the school’s leadership, teaching staff, support staff, and administrators for their contributions. He stated that the rating reflects the Trust’s focus on delivering an “exceptional educational journey” for all children while nurturing spiritually empathetic changemakers.
Previously graded “Good,” Krishna Avanti Primary is part of the Avanti Schools Trust and was among the first state-funded Hindu-faith primary schools in the UK. This development from “Good” to “Outstanding” underscores the school’s continuous growth and commitment to providing an exceptional standard of education.
