**Central Railway Felicitates 11 Employees with Safety Awards**

Vijay Kumar, General Manager of Central Railway, felicitated 11 Central Railway employees across various divisions with the Safety Award in a ceremony held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai on 7th October 2025. The awards recognize the employees’ alertness during duty, their contributions in averting untoward incidents, and their commitment to ensuring safety in train operations over the past months.

Each award consists of a medal, a commendation certificate, a citation highlighting exemplary safety work, and a cash prize of ₹2,000.

### Awardees and Their Acts of Vigilance

#### Mumbai Division
– **C L Kuril, Motorman, Kalyan:** On 15th September 2025, while working the Asangaon local AN-19, he noticed the entry signal no. VVH-6 for the 5th line was mistakenly shut off. Kuril did not pass the signal, promptly informed all concerned, and only moved forward after receiving the correct signal. His alertness prevented the train from going onto the wrong track.

– **Ravi Ranjan Kumar, Pointsman, Kalyan:** On 15th August 2025, at Kalyan station, he noticed a passenger slipping and falling while trying to board a moving train. He immediately waved a red signal to stop the train, thereby saving the passenger from harm.

#### Pune Division
– **Prem Prakash, Loco Pilot (Goods), Miraj:** On 10th September 2025, he spotted a truck on the UP line between Masur and Shirwade stations and promptly informed all concerned. Train no. 17412 Kolhapur-CSMT Mahalaxmi Express was then allowed to proceed with a caution order, preventing a potential accident.

– **Vijay Dinkar Patil, Assistant Sub-Inspector, RPF, Miraj:** On 9th September 2025, at Miraj station, he noticed a passenger trying to de-board a running train against its direction and slipping. Patil rushed to help and pulled the passenger to safety, preventing injury.

#### Solapur Division
– **Pratap Hiroo, Pointsman, Wadi:** On 11th September 2025, during shunting duty, he discovered a rail fracture on the nearby RD4 line. He immediately informed the relevant authorities, thereby averting a possible mishap.

– **Bhanwar Singh Yadav, Track Maintainer, Parewadi:** On 28th July 2025, he detected a broken SEJ tongue rail near Bhopalpet bridge. Despite Train no. 22160 Chennai-CSMT Superfast having already left Parewadi station, Yadav protected the track and informed authorities promptly, preventing an accident.

#### Nagpur Division
– **Rama Chauhan, Technician (C&W), Amla:** On 27th July 2025, during rolling-in examination of a goods train, she heard an unusual sound from a wagon. Upon inspection, she found a broken bearing cup of the axle box. Her keen observation helped avert a serious incident.

– **Pawan Bachle, Assistant (C&W), Amla:** On 16th August 2025 during night duty, he noticed highly inflammable material leaking from four wagons due to an open filling dome cover. His immediate action prevented a potential mishap.

#### Bhusaval Division
– **Santosh Chaudhry, Sr. Section Engineer, Bodwad:** On 24th August 2025, at Varangaon yard, he heard an unusual sound from a passing goods train. Upon further check, metal deposits were found in eight tyres. His alertness averted a possible accident.

– **Rohit Borikar, Track Maintainer, Bhusaval:** On 14th September 2025, while stationary on watch, he noticed brake binding in a coach of Train no. 22137 Nagpur-Ahmedabad Prerna Express between Bhadli-Jalgaon. He informed all concerned, preventing a mishap.

– **Shrinivas Singh, Technician (C&W), Bhusaval Yard:** On 17th August 2025, during a goods train examination, he observed a broken bogie bolster of a wagon. He promptly alerted the relevant authorities, helping avoid an accident.

Congratulating the awardees, General Manager Vijay Kumar lauded their alertness and dedication toward duty. He emphasized that such exemplary acts serve as motivation for others to work sincerely towards passenger safety and the prevention of loss of life, freight, and railway property.
