Actor-director Rishab Shetty recently shared some heartfelt insights about his collaboration with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh for the film *Kantara Chapter 1*. In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Shetty revealed that Dosanjh not only canceled his shows but also brought his entire team to rewatch the film, highlighting the deep impact *Kantara* had on the singer.
**A Spontaneous Collaboration**
Shetty recounted how the idea of involving Diljit Dosanjh came to him on a whim. While in Kochi for the post-production of *Kantara*, he wanted a singer whose voice was distinct and who was not from Karnataka. “I suddenly thought of Diljit, but I got stuck as I couldn’t remember his name,” Shetty said. He believed that Diljit’s strong voice would perfectly suit the song *Bole Re Kantara*.
**Diljit’s Enthusiastic Response**
Reaching out to Dosanjh’s team, Shetty learned something remarkable—the Punjabi singer had canceled his shows and taken the time to watch *Kantara* again. “I was told that he’s really fond of me and my film,” Shetty shared. Within just three to four days, Diljit visited YRF studios to record the song.
**A Unique Spiritual Bond**
After recording, Diljit requested a private conversation with Shetty, where they connected on a deeper level. “He spoke to me about his experience of watching *Kantara* and how the film aligns with his personal beliefs,” Shetty revealed. “Woh bhi mere jaise bahot bade Shiv bhakt hai”—meaning, he is a big devotee of Lord Shiva, just like Shetty himself. This shared devotion created what Shetty described as a “divine connection” and an energy that brought them together.
Diljit’s powerful vocals have infused the song with positivity and energy, adding a unique layer to *Kantara*’s musical landscape.
*Kantara Chapter 1* is currently playing in theaters. Don’t miss your chance to experience this spiritually charged cinematic journey.
