US firm sues Hexaware for patent breach, seeks $500 million
**American Tech Firm Natsoft and Subsidiary Updraft Sue Hexaware Technologies for $500 Million Over Patent Infringement**
BENGALURU: American technology company Natsoft, along with its subsidiary Updraft, has filed a $500 million lawsuit against Mumbai-based Hexaware Technologies in the United States, alleging patent infringement.
The plaintiffs claim that Hexaware’s flagship modernization platforms—RapidX, Amaze, and Tensai/ATOP—illegally incorporate Natsoft’s patented technologies. These patents cover key areas including automated code testing, business-rule extraction, code generation, and legacy modernization.
According to court filings reviewed by TOI, Natsoft has also accused Hexaware of misusing confidential information and technology shared during their prior partnership to develop competing platforms. Natsoft alleges that Hexaware wrongfully benefited from their technology without paying the required licensing fees.
Natsoft further stated that it has invested $100 million in the relevant technologies.
In response, Hexaware said in an official filing on Thursday that, based on their assessment, the complaint is without merit. The company does not anticipate any adverse legal outcome and expects no material financial impact from the lawsuit.
