India clinched the 2025 T20 Asia Cup title after a thrilling final against Pakistan in Dubai. Despite a top-order collapse, the Indians successfully chased down a target of 147, with Tilak Varma delivering a match-winning performance in the final over.
A key contributor to India’s victory was Kuldeep Yadav, whose spectacular four-wicket haul laid the foundation for the win. Kuldeep now holds the record for the best bowling figures in a T20 Asia Cup final.
### #1 Kuldeep Yadav: 4/30 vs Pakistan, Dubai, 2025
Although wicketless in his first two overs during the final, Kuldeep broke the partnership by dismissing Saim Ayub, reducing Pakistan to 113/2. He then struck in quick succession, removing captain Salman Agha, Shaheen Afridi, and Faheem Ashraf in the same over. Pakistan’s innings collapsed to 134/8, with Kuldeep finishing with impressive figures of 4-0-30-4.
This performance establishes Kuldeep Yadav as the bowler with the best returns in T20 Asia Cup finals history.
### Record: Most Wickets in a T20 Asia Cup
Kuldeep capped off the 2025 tournament as the highest wicket-taker, claiming 17 wickets from seven matches at an outstanding average of 9.29, and an economy rate of 6.27. He also recorded two four-wicket hauls during the tournament. According to Cricbuzz, Kuldeep set a new benchmark for most wickets taken by a bowler in a single T20 Asia Cup edition, surpassing the previous record held by UAE’s Amjad Javed, who took 12 wickets in 2016.
### #2 Pramod Madushan: 4/34 vs Pakistan, Dubai, 2022
Kuldeep’s record-breaking final surpassed Sri Lanka’s Pramod Madushan, who had impressive figures of 4/34 against Pakistan in the 2022 Asia Cup final, also held in Dubai. Madushan shone after Sri Lanka posted 170/6 in their 20 overs. The right-arm seamer dismissed key Pakistani batsmen Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman on consecutive deliveries, before returning later to remove Iftikhar Ahmed and Naseem Shah. Pakistan eventually fell short, being bowled out for 147.
