How to Obtain Water and Power in Icarus
Getting water and power in Icarus allows players to upgrade their bases with advanced technology. Upon reaching Tier 3 and Tier 4 in the Tech Tree, explorers must establish a utility network to run advanced electric machinery like the Chemistry Bench, Electric Furnace, and Refrigerator. While water is available in abundance, finding an efficient way to power Tier 4 equipment can be challenging. This guide explains how you can get water and power in the game.
Crafting Required Equipment
To get water and power in Icarus, you need to craft various Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 equipment. Each piece of machinery requires specific crafting materials, which can be found under the Tech Tree tab along with the corresponding crafting stations.
*Complete lists of the equipment and required materials can be found in the Tech Tree.*
Setting Up Water and Power in Your Base
Once you have crafted the necessary machinery, follow these steps to set them up in your base:
- Place the Water Borer onto a Geyser to extract water.
- Set up the Wind Turbine to generate power and place the Advanced Battery Rack for power storage.
- Install a Water Barrel under a basic roof setup and the Tier 3 Rain Reservoir to store water.
- Use the Electricity Tool to connect the Wind Turbine to the Battery Rack and the Water Borer.
- Finally, use the Water Pipe Tool to connect the Water Borer to your Crop Plots and water containers like reservoirs and barrels.
How the System Works
The Wind Turbine generates a substantial 1,750 units of power. Out of this, 1,000 units are used to run the Water Borer, while the remaining 750 units are stored in the network battery systems for later use.
The Water Borer is specifically designed for use with Geysers and plays a vital role in obtaining water and power in Icarus. It requires 1,000 units of power to operate and produces 1,000 units of water, which can then be distributed to multiple crop plots.
The stored water and power provide a reliable backup, ensuring your base functions smoothly even during fluctuations in production.
