Mister Romantic, John C. Reilly‘s vaudevillian alter-ego, is back just in time for Record Store Day Black Friday. Pressed on silver opaque vinyl, the limited-edition record features his cover of the 1930 standard of the same name, as well as the B-side “Paper Moon.” Check out the charming video for “Dream a Little Dream of Me” below, which was shot by Gilbert Trejo. Nodding to silent films of the early 20th century, the clip finds Reilly, as Mister Romantic, outside a big victorian house, trying to make a grand gesture to someone inside. He leaves a bouquet of flowers at the door and lingers on the sidewalk, dancing and gazing up at the window, until he finally waves goodbye and wanders away. Trending Stories Reilly previously collaborated with Third Man last summer, when he appeared in Jack White’s video for “Archbishop Harold Holmes.” He released What’s Not to Love?, his debut as Mister Romantic, earlier this year. “I looked at our weary world a few years ago and tried to think of a way I could spread love and empathy,” he said in a statement, upon announcing the album. “I decided the most fun way to do that was through performing and singing and telling people I loved them.”.
