OAKLAND Four women and a man allegedly robbed and assaulted a man after he paid two sex workers on International Boulevard and took them to a nearby motel, court records show. Thus far, the only suspect charged in the Oct. 19 incident is Dwayne Yiggins, an 18-year-old Clearlake man who reportedly told police he was at the motel to visit his girlfriend. Police later identified his girlfriend as one of the other four suspected robbers, according to court records. It all started when the victim paid two sex workers $200 and took them to the Capri Motel on West MacArthur Boulevard on the night of Oct. 19. The man later told police that all he intended to do with the women was drink, have some snacks, and enjoy some nice conversations, authorities said. Instead, when he got there, he was attacked by all five suspects, one of whom pepper sprayed him in the face, authorities said. Yiggins allegedly choked the man, and the group was able to steal his wallet, vape pen, phone, and keys to his Toyota Prius, according to court records. Police say they seized bloody clothing from the motel room where Yiggins had been staying. Yiggins has been charged with second degree robbery and assault. He is in jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. The investigation remains active, authorities said.
