Michelle Obama is slimmer than ever, but the internet isn’t buying it. The former first lady was accused of taking weight-loss drugs after she shared behind-the-scenes footage of a photo shoot with famous photographer Annie Leibovitz on Instagram over the weekend. “Annie Leibovitz has always known that a photo can do more than preserve a moment it can say something,” Obama, 61, wrote on Friday alongside a photo of her seemingly skinnier figure. “Her book Women did exactly that, expanding how we see women and the lives they lead through her lens,” she continued alongside a clip from the photo shoot. “It was an honor to be photographed by Annie for the new edition, capturing the many ways women are showing up today.” “I hope you’ll find it as inspirational as I do,” the mom-of-two concluded. While Obama posed for the shoot in a gray T-shirt, jeans and brown suede boots, she made sure to offer a peek at her toned arms and taut stomach. However, the public health advocate’s sudden weight loss sparked unfounded speculation that she used Ozempic or similar GLP-1 meds to achieve her new slim figure. “Ozempic just like everyone on The View who suddenly decided to ‘get healthy,’” one person tweeted. “I’m not knocking it but for Christ’s sake be honest about it!” “GLP-1. They have the money, they don’t have to worry about insurance covering it and jumping through those hoops,” commented another. “The boomerang weight gain will be vicious. among other issues with that stuff.” “It’s called Ozempic,” wrote a third X user, while another shared, “I would imagine Ozempic. That or a personal trainer and a strict diet, nah, Ozempic is way easier.” The Post has reached out to Obama’s rep for comment. Back in 2022, the former first lady opened up about the weight she gained while going through menopause. “I never used to weigh myself,” she told People at the time. “I’m not trying to stick to numbers, but when you’re in menopause, you have this slow creep that you just don’t realize.” “We’re all in menopause with stretchy bands and our athleisure wear on, and you look up and you can’t fit the outfits you had last year,” the podcast host added. “I have to be more mindful, not obsessive, but more mindful.” Obama revisited the subject of aging and health during another chat with the outlet earlier this month. “My health has always been paramount,” she shared. “What I eat, working out, I go to regular doctor’s visits.” “I do all the things that I’m supposed to do, because I value my health and that also allows me to enjoy this time, because I’m not achy, I’m not sore, I’m not sick,” Obama concluded. “I’m as vibrant as I’ve ever been.”.
