The Green Bay Packers picked up a much-needed bounce-back win in Week 11 over the New York Giants, but they still have a lot of work to do down the stretch of the 2025 campaign with the playoff race beginning to heat up. In Week 12, that has led them to a tough divisional matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Injuries are starting to become a bigger and bigger issue for the Packers, as they will be without several key players, such as Josh Jacobs, Matthew Golden, Quay Walker, and Nate Hobbs, against the Vikings. They will be getting one key piece back on defense, though, in Lukas Van Ness, who hasn’t played since Week 6 thanks to a foot injury. Lukas Van Ness Active for Packers’ Week 12 Action Green Bay selected Van Ness with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but to this point, he has failed to meet expectations. While he played in all 34 games over the first two seasons of his career, none of those were starts, as Van Ness has primarily been used as a situational pass rusher. Given the spot he was selected at in the draft, the Packers are obviously looking for Van Ness enjoyed a decent start to the season, racking up 11 tackles and 1. 5 sacks through five games, but his progress was disrupted when he suffered his aforementioned foot injury. Since then, Van Ness has been working tirelessly to get himself back on the field, and his hard work appears set to pay off in Week 12. While Green Bay obviously has Micah Parsons in town now, generating more pressure on opposing quarterbacks is going to be a key goal for the defense moving forward. Van Ness should be able to help in that department immediately, because he is officially active for the team’s upcoming contest against Minnesota. “Lukas Van Ness is active for the first time since Week 6,” Matt Schneidman shared in a post on X. Packers Looking to Keep Up with the Pack in the NFC North Entering the season, the Packers knew that they were going to have their work cut out for them in the NFC North division. However, things have somehow become even more difficult than expected. The Detroit Lions were obviously going to be contending for the top spot in the division, but entering Week 12, it’s the Chicago Bears that are surprisingly leading the pack. Every win is going to be important for Green Bay moving forward, and with the division appearing likely to come down to the wire, that means there’s added importance for all divisional matchups. The Vikings are looking to keep their postseason hopes alive, so you can bet they will give it their all on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff for this important matchup is set to get underway at 1 p. m. ET.
