PEMBROKE PARK, FLA. (WSVN) — Rescue crews have transported five individuals to the hospital following a violent crash along Interstate 95 in Pembroke Park. The accident resulted in the closure of nearly all southbound lanes during the height of rush hour.
The wreck occurred near Hallandale Beach Boulevard at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Friday. An aerial view captured just after 10 a.m. reveals a box truck and a sedan with extensive damage, surrounded by fire trucks. Only one southbound lane remained open to traffic at the time.
Of the five victims taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, fire rescue officials reported that four were transported as trauma alerts.
Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes to prevent further delays.
