Take, for example, this cat named River. River is best friends with a senior dog named Oakley. When their human started giving Oakley daily massages for physical therapy, River quickly took an interest. Since these massages were meant to aid Oakley’s recovery, they didn’t always feel very good.
River could sense the discomfort in his old friend and seemed to think, “Move aside, you’re doing it wrong!” From then on, River began to assist Oakley during his massages. Alongside their human, River gives Oakley gentle massages while purring and providing comfort to his “mortal enemy” dog best friend.
