Gordon Ramsay Fires Back at “Ozempic Tasting Menus”
By [Author Name] | [Date]

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay didn’t hold back when asked whether he would tailor his restaurant menus for diners taking popular GLP-1 weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic and Mounjaro. In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, the 59-year-old Hell’s Kitchen star delivered an emphatic “no.”

Ramsay’s Comments on Smaller Portions
“That is absolute bulls,” Ramsay declared. “There’s no f-way we’re giving in to the Mounjaro jab. The problem is with them [the diners] for eating too much in the first f-place! There’s no way that we’re coming in with an Ozempic tasting menu to make you feel like less of a fat f by 10:30 in the evening.”

He was referencing a recent move by fellow chef Heston Blumenthal, who announced that his three-Michelin-star U.K. restaurant The Fat Duck would offer a reduced-portion “Mindful Experience” tasting menu for patrons on weight-loss medications.

How GLP-1 Drugs Work
Ozempic, Mounjaro and other GLP-1 medications were originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes. They’ve since become famous for their ability to suppress appetite, slow digestion and create a greater feeling of fullness.

Influencer Culture and Phone Etiquette
During the same interview, Ramsay also vented his frustration with influencer culture and the widespread use of cell phones at restaurants. “F ring lights and posting about how good the food is,” he said. While he acknowledged that social media can boost a restaurant’s visibility, he emphasized that one diner’s livestream should not disrupt another’s experience.

Ramsay singled out American guests as the “worst offenders” for poor phone etiquette. “They’re constantly taking f-n pictures with their flashlights on,” he said.

Current Projects and New Ventures
Ramsay is currently starring in season 24 of Hell’s Kitchen as well as MasterChef, Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service and Next Level: Chef. His restaurant empire spans nearly 90 venues worldwide, from his flagship three-Michelin-star Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London to casual chains like Bread Street Kitchen and Hell’s Kitchen.

His latest opening, Bonheur in London’s Mayfair district, is led by Chef Matt Abé. Ramsay stressed that this fine-dining venture will be “mostly influencer-free.” “Bonheur will not be flooded with TikTokers,” he said.
