– Name of the deceased

– A photo (preferably in JPEG or PDF format). TIF and other file types are also accepted, and we will contact you if there are issues with the photo.

*Please note:* There is a discount for running an obituary more than one day. This must be scheduled on the first run date to apply. If you use a photo, it must be published on both days to qualify for the discount. Contact us for more details.

### Policies
**Verification of Death:**
To publish obituaries, we require the name and phone number of the funeral home or cremation society handling the arrangements. We will contact them during their business hours to verify the death.
– If the body has been donated to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program or a similar program, provide their phone number for verification.
– A death certificate is also acceptable for verification purposes (only one verification method is required).
– Please allow enough time for verification, especially on weekends when hours may be limited.
**Guestbook and Outside Websites:**
We cannot reference other media sources, guestbooks, or obituaries published elsewhere in print or online. We may include a funeral home website or a family email for contact instead. Contact us if you have questions about this policy.

### Obituary Process
After submitting your obituary, we will send you a proof via fax or email for review before publication. The proof will include the price and scheduled publication dates.
– Please review the proof carefully and notify us of any errors or changes before the deadlines for each day’s edition.
– Once published, we are not responsible for errors that occur after final proofing.
– Changes to an online obituary can be made by contacting the obituary desk.

### Payment Procedure
Pre-payment is required for all obituary notices before publication by the specified deadlines. After approving your proof, please call 651-228-5263 to provide payment information.
– **Credit Card:** Accepted by phone only, in accordance with PCI (Payment Card Industry) regulations.
– **EFT:** Payment by phone is accepted; please provide your routing and account numbers.

### Rates
– Minimum charge: $162 for the first 12 lines.
– Each additional line after 12 lines: $12 per line.
– Ads shorter than 12 lines will be charged the minimum $162 rate.
– Obituaries longer than 40 lines receive a 7.5% discount per line.
– A second run date earns a 20% discount off both the first and second placements.
– Place three obituaries and the third placement is free of charge.
– Each photo is $125 per day. For example, 2 photos printed on 2 days equal 4 photo charges totaling $500.

To ensure your obituary is published on the requested day, please adhere strictly to the deadline times below. There are no exceptions.
