**Tulsa King Undergoes Major Overhaul Ahead of Season 4**
*Deadline* reports that Tulsa King is experiencing significant changes behind the scenes as it prepares for its fourth season. A staggering 26 crew members have been informed that they will not return for Season 4, marking a substantial shake-up within the production.
Production was scheduled to resume this week, with nearly all of the series’ 600-member crew facing replacement. The affected departments span a wide range of roles, including sound, camera operation, stunts, rigging, transportation, production office, extras casting, hair, photography, and more.
Many crew members had been under the impression they would continue working on the show, especially after Tulsa King was picked up for a two-season renewal following star and executive producer Sylvester Stallone’s new deal in 2024. However, just weeks before shooting was set to begin, these individuals learned they would no longer be part of the production.
Among those impacted is Freddie Poole, a two-time Emmy nominee for his stunt coordination work on Tulsa King. Poole, who has served as a stunt double for Stallone for the past 14 years, was notified only two weeks prior to production that he would be losing his position. He expressed his disappointment, saying, “I feel really bad for the Atlanta film community with just the way things went down.”
Poole was informed by 101 Studios that his dismissal was due to “creative reasons,” though he was offered a new role as a photo double on the series—a role he ultimately declined. Reflecting on the situation, he added, “I’ve been in this business for 30 years and I’ve been on shows for multiple seasons, and I’ve never seen this kind of turnover.”
In addition to the crew changes, Tulsa King is also seeing shifts in its leadership team for Season 4. Terence Winter will return as executive producer and head writer following the departure of Season 3 showrunner Dave Erickson. Winter initially served as showrunner and executive producer for the first season before stepping down. Erickson then took the helm starting in Season 2 while Winter remained involved as head writer and executive producer.
Tulsa King was officially renewed for its fourth season in September, ahead of the Season 3 premiere, setting the stage for these significant transitions both on and off screen. Fans and industry observers alike will be watching closely to see how these changes impact the show’s future.
