**Bobigny Court Postpones Trial of Suspect Linked to Louvre Jewels Heist**

BOBIGNY, France (AP) — A French court on Wednesday postponed the trial of a suspect connected to the Louvre jewels heist in an unrelated case, citing media attention and other factors that could compromise the fairness of the proceedings.

The court in Bobigny, located north of Paris, announced that the suspect’s trial on charges of damaging public property will be rescheduled for April. The suspect’s four lawyers explained that the intense publicity surrounding the Louvre robbery has prevented them from adequately preparing for the trial.

Maxime Cavaillé, one of the defense lawyers, emphasized their concerns, telling reporters: “We’ll be extremely vigilant about several points, first of all the respect of the presumption of innocence.”

According to local media and the BFM TV news broadcaster, the suspect is known on social media as “Doudou Cross Bitume.” He has posted videos since the late 2000s on YouTube and, more recently, on TikTok. These videos show him performing motocross tricks in Paris and Aubervilliers.

The suspect was originally scheduled to stand trial Wednesday on minor charges involving breaking a mirror and damaging the door of the prison cell where he was detained in 2019, as part of a separate theft investigation. That investigation later cleared him of wrongdoing.

The court’s decision to postpone the trial reflects concerns over ensuring a fair legal process amid high-profile media coverage. The case remains under close observation as proceedings are set to resume in the spring.
