RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Duke Scott stepped up in place of the injured Atlantic Coast Conference rushing leader Hollywood Smothers, delivering a career-best performance to help N.C. State pull off a stunning upset against No. 8 Georgia Tech.
Scott rushed for an impressive 196 yards, leading the Wolfpack to a 48-36 victory on Saturday night. His standout moment came late in the game when he broke loose around the left side for a 30-yard touchdown with 4:07 remaining, sealing the win and ending the Yellow Jackets’ unbeaten run.
