**Fold and Steak ‘n Shake Partner to Offer Bitcoin Rewards on Bitcoin Steakburger Purchases**
Publicly traded Bitcoin services firm Fold has teamed up with restaurant chain Steak ‘n Shake to launch an exciting new promotion. Customers who purchase the new Bitcoin Burger can now claim real Bitcoin rewards, marking a unique collaboration between the worlds of dining and cryptocurrency.
The limited-time offer is available at nearly 400 U.S. Steak ‘n Shake locations. Diners can earn Bitcoin rewards by uploading their receipts to bitcoinmealdeal after ordering either the Bitcoin Steakburger or the Bitcoin Meal.
“This is the first in a series of mainstream partnerships we plan to roll out, all focused on showing how Bitcoin can fit naturally into everyday spending,” Fold founder and CEO Will Reeves told Decrypt. “Fold is already integrated across retail, dining, and lifestyle brands through our gift card marketplace, and we’ll keep expanding into categories that help people earn Bitcoin in ways that are simple, safe, and rewarding.”
Steak ‘n Shake began embracing crypto earlier this year, allowing Bitcoin payments at its restaurant locations. The company has since attributed some of its year-over-year sales growth to the Bitcoin community. To celebrate the five-month anniversary of Bitcoin payments, Steak ‘n Shake unveiled the Bitcoin Steakburger, which features the iconic Bitcoin logo stamped onto the top bun.
While the company considered adding Ethereum payment options, it ultimately scrapped those plans following backlash from the Bitcoin community.
Fold operates as a Bitcoin financial services firm, offering a debit card product that provides Bitcoin rewards on everyday purchases. The company is also planning to release a Bitcoin credit card and currently maintains an open email waitlist for interested customers.
In February, Fold went public on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker symbol FLD. As of Friday, shares are down about 3.5% on the day and have fallen roughly 68% year-to-date, currently trading at $3.59. Meanwhile, Bitcoin itself has seen a slight increase in value on the day.
This partnership between Fold and Steak ‘n Shake highlights growing momentum for Bitcoin integration in mainstream consumer experiences, making it easier than ever for people to earn and use Bitcoin in their daily lives.
