The Bengals recently had an open roster spot after placing Shaka Heyward on injured reserve earlier this week. They filled that spot on Thursday by signing linebacker Joe Giles-Harris to the active roster from the practice squad. This addition makes Giles-Harris the fifth linebacker on the Bengals’ 53-player roster.
Giles-Harris spent the first seven weeks of the season on the practice squad before being elevated to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Jets. During that game, he played 18 special teams snaps, showcasing his value to the team.
In other roster moves, the Bengals announced the release of defensive end Myles Cole from the practice squad. Additionally, they signed linebackers Liam Anderson and Brian Asamoah II to the practice squad, further bolstering their depth at the linebacker position.
