**ASCAP, BMI, and SOCAN Update Policies on AI-Generated Musical Compositions**
On Tuesday, ASCAP, BMI, and SOCAN announced updated policies to accept registrations of musical compositions partially generated using artificial intelligence (AI) tools. These works will now be registered directly with the individual societies. All three Performing Rights Organizations (PROs) define a partially AI-generated musical work as “one that combines elements of AI-generated musical content with elements of human authorship.” However, musical compositions entirely created using AI tools will remain ineligible for registration.
These policy updates come in response to the increasing incorporation of various AI tools by songwriters and composers in their creative processes and workflows. The trio of organizations also emphasized their disapproval of AI technology companies ingesting and training models on copyrighted material without proper consent.

**Emily Rose Partners with Postpartum Care USA to Raise Awareness**
Country artist Emily Rose has announced a new partnership with Postpartum Care USA aligned with the release of her latest music video for the single “Don’t Talk About It.” The song addresses the postpartum journey, highlighting urgent and largely preventable issues such as nutrient depletion, mental health challenges, and thyroid imbalance affecting thousands of new mothers.
Rose aims to bring music and healing together through this project and hopes her partnership with PPCUSA will raise awareness about postpartum depression and available resources.
“I wrote this song in the depths of postpartum depression. I wasn’t getting the care I needed and was struggling in so many ways,” Rose shared. “Writing has always been my outlet—a way to process emotions and begin to heal—so this song became a place where I could finally say out loud everything I was feeling. Looking back, if I had known about an organization like Postpartum Care USA, which is dedicated to supporting mothers’ health after birth, I might not have felt so alone. I probably could have learned healthier, less overwhelming ways to cope. I truly believe in their mission and the compassionate way they walk alongside moms during this vulnerable time.”
