Thank you for joining us for this two-part series on the topic of weakness—a feeling that we have all experienced at one time or another, perhaps even daily. The Lord uses weakness to draw us closer to Him.
Both the Old and New Testaments contain numerous verses that illustrate this concept and show how the Lord intervenes to help us glorify Him. Today, we will focus on the Old Testament, and next week, we will explore the New Testament.
Imagine if people had no weaknesses; they might go about their lives without ever needing or praying to God. Weakness teaches us humility and dependence on the Lord.
St. Paul wrote about God’s message to him: “My power is made perfect in weakness.” It is through God’s power that we derive the strength to persevere, to overcome challenges, to begin new journeys, to finish what we have started, or even to accept circumstances that have made us feel weak.
Stay tuned for next week’s post, where we will delve into the New Testament’s perspective on weakness and how God’s grace empowers us.
