How to Get Gengar in Pokémon Legends Z-A
The answer to how to get Gengar in Pokémon Legends Z-A is pretty straightforward. There are two different options, each with its own challenges.
1. Evolution
The simplest method is to evolve a Haunter into Gengar. This can only be done through a trade — unfortunately, trading is the only way to evolve Haunter into Gengar in Pokémon Legends Z-A.
2. Finding Gengar in the Wild
You can also find Gengar in the wild, specifically in the Lumiose City area. Below is a brief overview of the locations:
- Wild Zone 20: Here you can find an Alpha Gengar at level 63 or 64. Keep in mind that this is a post-game area, so you will only be able to access and catch this Gengar after finishing the main storyline.
- Old House in the Bleu District (Sector 9): Another place to locate Gengar is inside the Old House in Lumiose City’s Bleu District, Sector 9. You will gain access to this area later in the game during the Goodbye, Gengar quest, which will guide you directly to the Old House.
