Steve McBee Sr. has officially been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to federal crop insurance fraud. On Thursday, Steve Sr. received his prison sentence and was also hit with two years of supervised release afterward. Additionally, he is required to pay $4,022,124, according to People.
He must self-surrender prior to 2 p.m. on December 1.
In November 2024, Steve Sr. pleaded guilty to federal crop insurance fraud that took place from 2018 to 2020, as reported by Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
While the McBee family patriarch was barely featured in Season 2 of *The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys*, which centers on the McBee family farm in Gallatin, Missouri, the season ended with his eldest son, Steven McBee Jr., revealing to his brothers Cole and Jesse McBee that their father was under investigation by the FBI.
Steven Jr. shared in a late August interview with The Daily Dish that he was feeling “scared, nervous, anything, and everything” ahead of his father’s sentencing.
“We love him so much, and love our family unit,” he added. “So, to picture him not being here with us for any amount of time, it’s scary.”
*The McBee Dynasty* Season 2 premiered in June on Bravo after Season 1 aired on Peacock. Variety recently broke the news that the reality series has been renewed for a third season, with filming scheduled to begin before Steve Sr.’s sentencing.
In his interview with The Daily Dish, Steven Jr. explained that the family is “focusing on the positive things we have going, of which there are so many,” but admitted that he would “be lying if I said that black cloud hasn’t been hanging over us every second of every day since we first found out.”
“We’re ready to get past that day, deal with whatever comes of it, and move on, to say the least,” he continued. “We know no matter what, if we stick together as a family, we’ll make it through anything.”
During a July interview with DECIDER, Steven Jr. said it felt “good” to finally tell his brothers about their father’s legal issues.
“I also think I should have told you guys earlier because I had some crash-outs and some very tense moments leading up to that,” he said alongside Jesse. “You guys were probably like, ‘why is he freaking out about something so small?’ It wasn’t any specific moment; it was knowing what all was going on behind the scenes.”
On Thursday, Steven Jr. reposted his Father’s Day tribute to Steve Sr. on his Instagram story, writing, “Love ya Dad. Whole family is here for you.”
The first two seasons of *The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys* are currently streaming on Peacock.
