Last week, a hacker group known as the Crimson Collective claimed to have infiltrated Nintendo’s systems and obtained a significant amount of private data.
This week, Nintendo has responded to these allegations. The company conducted an internal investigation into the supposed breach and found that while some servers hosting Nintendo’s webpages may have been defaced, there is no indication that any personal or business data were compromised.
The information comes from Japanese publication The Sankei Shimbun, which Nintendo provided with an official statement regarding the incident. In the statement, Nintendo assured fans that there is no evidence of any leaked business or user information.
The initial claim by the Crimson Collective surfaced on Twitter on October 11, 2025. The group posted a screenshot showing multiple folders labeled “production,” “staging,” and “dev,” implying access to sensitive parts of Nintendo’s infrastructure.
However, Nintendo remains confident that no critical data related to its games or services has been exposed at this time. Fans and users can rest assured that their information remains secure.
