Pop superstar Britney Spears, 43, has hit back at her ex-husband Kevin Federline following the release of his new memoir, *You Thought You Knew*. Spears accused Federline of engaging in “constant gaslighting” and described his book as being “full of white lies.”
**‘Full Of White Lies’**
Britney addressed the situation, saying, “The constant gaslighting from my ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting.” She also expressed her ongoing desire to maintain a close relationship with their two sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19. “I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys,” she added.
The singer went on to criticize the level of contact she has with her children, revealing that she has seen one son for only 45 minutes over the past five years, and the other has visited her just four times during that same period. “Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by their own father toward me,” Spears shared. “They need to take responsibility for themselves. I have pride too. From now on, I will let them know when I am available.”
**Explosive Claims in Federline’s Memoir**
Kevin Federline, a former backup dancer, accuses Spears in his memoir of erratic behavior, irresponsible parenting—including allegations of cocaine use while breastfeeding—and infidelity with a female dancer. He also expressed deep concerns about Spears’ mental health, stating that he fears “something bad is going to happen” to her.
Responding to these accusations, Spears said, “Trust me, those white lies in that book are going straight to the bank, and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here. I will always love my children, and if you really know me, you won’t pay attention to the tabloids about my mental health and drinking.”
She continued, “I am actually a pretty intelligent woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life these past five years.”
**Blast at Absent Sons**
Earlier this week, Spears’s representatives also condemned Federline’s memoir, calling it a means of “profiting off her,” especially since child support has ended. They emphasized, “All she cares about are her kids and their well-being during this sensationalism.”
RadarOnline.com disclosed that Federline has claimed Spears’ erratic behavior is “ten times worse” than what he revealed in the memoir. In a recent interview promoting *You Thought You Knew*, Federline admitted he left out more serious allegations from the book because of their sensitive nature.
He expressed, “I’m really worried. I’m absolutely— as a father—terrified that one day I might wake up and my sons are going to have to deal with the unimaginable.”
He added, “I kind of have to sound the alarm that I truly feel that somehow, some way, I just wish that their mom would get help.”
The actor, who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007, explained he chose to only briefly share his concerns in the memoir, saying, “I’m not going to get into details, because I’m not going to just expose her personal life. But it’s ten times worse than anything I’ve said in my book.”
