Kaulig Racing is heading towards a major transition as its alliance with Richard Childress Racing (RCR) nears its end. The team’s president, Chris Rice, confirmed this development in an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR radio.

Currently based out of RCR’s campus in North Carolina, Kaulig Racing will soon move into its own facility. The team plans to operate a five-car Truck Series outfit in association with RAM. Alongside two full-time rides in the Cup Series, Kaulig also maintains a presence in the Xfinity Series with the No. 11 car.

While Kaulig continues its ties with Chevrolet, the new partnership with RAM marks the beginning of a new era. Stellantis-owned RAM is preparing for a Cup Series debut scheduled for 2027. Despite this collaboration, Rice emphasized that Kaulig will implement strict firewall measures to protect sensitive data between Chevrolet and RAM.

Rice explained, “I think over the last three weeks, we’ve had about 10 people start, including a lot of engineers, because not only are we building five trucks, we’re going to be out on our own in Cup. We’re not going to be able to alliance with RCR and do those things, so we’re going to kind of be out on our own on that.”

He added, “So we’re building our own Cup program, building our own bodies and different things like that. And hey, Matt Kaulig always told me, ‘Man, let’s go stand on our own two feet for the next 10 years. That’d be 20 years in the sport.’”

In other news, Kaulig Racing has signed the current ARCA Menards Series champion, Brenden Queen, for their final three races in the 2025 Xfinity Series season. It is widely believed that ‘Butterbean’ Queen will secure a full-time ride within Kaulig’s Truck Series program moving forward.

### Kaulig Racing Names Replacement for Ty Dillon’s Spotter

Kaulig Racing has fired Ty Dillon’s spotter, Joe White. The decision came just days after Dillon’s wreck with William Byron at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. White announced the news on X (formerly Twitter), revealing he was informed of the firing after he had already reached Talladega.

Following this, NASCAR analyst Bob Pockrass shared the replacement details: “AJ Allmendinger spotter Frank Deiny is now listed as spotter for Ty Dillon. TJ Bell is now listed as spotter for AJ Allmendinger,” he wrote on X.

Fans reacted negatively to the news, seeing White as a scapegoat for the Las Vegas incident. Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, also commented on the matter, suggesting there must have been a miscommunication leading up to the crash. Notably, Dillon had not given any indication that he was about to pit when Byron collided with him.

As Kaulig Racing navigates these changes both on and off the track, the team looks poised to enter a new chapter blending growth, new partnerships, and talent development.
