Filmmaker Karan Johar is reportedly preparing for his directorial comeback with a romantic drama, following his last project, *Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani* (2023). According to reports, Alia Bhatt is set to play the female lead in this upcoming film.
Meanwhile, actors Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal are in talks to take on the male lead roles, as per Mid-Day. This film would mark Johar’s third collaboration with Alia Bhatt, after *Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani* and *Student of the Year*. Additionally, Johar’s Dharma Productions has backed multiple films headlined by Bhatt.
**Actor Connections**
The trio—Kapoor, Kaushal, and Bhatt—have strong professional ties, having worked together in various combinations over the years. Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal have previously acted alongside Bhatt in *Brahmastra* (2022) and *Raazi* (2018), respectively. Currently, all three stars are shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film *Love & War*, which is slated for release in March 2026. The film is described as a dramatic love triangle set against a wartime backdrop.
Separately, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal shared the screen in the film *Sanju* (2018).
**Film Details: *Love & War*’s International Shoot**
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is taking *Love & War* to an international level by planning to shoot the film’s climax in Sicily, Italy. A source informed Pinkvilla, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going international with *Love & War*. The director will shoot the climax scene across Sicily with a massive schedule, making it one of the grandest shoots of the film.”
The team has already completed over 120 days of shooting on an elaborate set in Mumbai as part of their expansive production.
