**Texas School District Bans Holocaust Novel *The Devil’s Arithmetic***

A Texas school district has banned the Holocaust novel *The Devil’s Arithmetic* following the use of artificial intelligence to detect content related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), which is prohibited from classroom materials in that district.

The decision came after the school district employed AI technology to review educational content, identifying elements of DEI that led to the removal of the book from the curriculum.

*The Devil’s Arithmetic*, written by Jane Yolen, is her most famous work and has been widely recognized for its powerful portrayal of the Holocaust.
