MP News: BJP, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Come Face-To-Face Over Bhawantar Yojna

**Registration Begins Under Bhawantar Yojna for Soybean Farmers in Madhya Pradesh**

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The government’s Bhawantar Yojna, aimed at supporting soybean-producing farmers, officially commenced registration on Friday. At an event marking the launch, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav assured farmers that if their produce was procured at rates lower than the prescribed Minimum Support Price (MSP), the difference would be credited directly to their accounts within 15 days.

Yadav explained that the payment farmers receive will include the difference between the MSP and the price at which their crop was sold. “Farmers will get good prices for soybeans considering the current global market scenario,” he added. The current MSP rate for soybean is set at Rs 5,328 per quintal.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organization is actively assisting the government in implementing the Bhawantar Yojna at the grassroots level. Chief Minister Yadav also held a virtual conference with BJP leaders, urging them to encourage farmers to enroll in the scheme.

### Opposition from Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS)

However, the scheme has faced opposition from the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), an RSS-affiliated organization. Kamal Anjana, the state president of BKS, stated, “Farmers do not want the Bhawantar Yojna for crops for which MSP is already available.” According to him, the scheme should only apply to crops lacking an MSP.

The BKS has demanded that the government ensure soybean procurement strictly at MSP rates. To press their demands, the organization is staging sit-ins in various districts and plans to hold a tractor rally to protest against the government’s approach.

This divergence has created a rift between the BJP, which supports the government’s policy, and the BKS. Such confrontations have occurred previously, with the BKS challenging the government on multiple issues.

### Relief Fund Transferred to Farmers

In a related development, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav transferred Rs 653 crore as relief payments to over 8.84 lakh farmers across 13 districts. These farmers suffered crop losses due to excessive rainfall and yellow mosaic disease. The transfers were made through a video conference.

Yadav highlighted that this is the first time the state government has provided relief specifically for crop losses caused by yellow mosaic disease. He assured farmers that the government will continue to provide support for crop losses resulting from natural calamities or pest attacks.

The Bhawantar Yojna and government relief efforts reflect the state’s commitment to bolstering the agricultural sector and protecting farmers’ interests amid challenging conditions.
