Deepa Mehta, the first wife of actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar and a renowned costume designer, has sadly passed away. Their son, Satya Manjrekar, confirmed the news through an emotional social media post. Sharing a smiling picture of his mother, Satya wrote, “I miss you mumma.” The cause of her death has not been disclosed. May she rest in peace.

**Career and Family**

Deepa Mehta was not only known for her work as a talented costume designer but also for running a popular saree brand called Queen of Hearts. She married Mahesh Manjrekar in 1987, after the couple had known each other since their college days.

Together, they had two children: a daughter, Ashwami Manjrekar, and a son, Satya. Unfortunately, their marriage ended in divorce in 1995. Following the separation, their children reportedly chose to live with their father.

**Mahesh Manjrekar’s Second Marriage**

After his divorce from Deepa Mehta, Mahesh Manjrekar married actor Medha Manjrekar. The couple has a daughter, Saiee Manjrekar, who has followed her father’s footsteps into Bollywood. Saiee made her film debut alongside Mahesh in *Dabangg 3* and has also starred in *Major* and *Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay*.

Additionally, Manjrekar’s stepdaughter, Gauri Ingawale, is an actor known for her work in films such as *Panghrun*, *Hi Anokhi Gath*, and *De Dhakka 2*.
