‘I have no interest in stealing anyone else’s cat, but if she’s happy here she’s welcome to stay.’: A cat’s unwavering choice to live with her neighbor leads to an emotional standoff and a dispute over microchip ownership

There really should be a legal limit on how many pets are allowed within a certain amount of space. After a certain point, it becomes pet overcrowding, and that simply isn’t right.

This story begins with that very issue. However, there is an element of luck and joy involved, as the pets’ neighbor had a lovely garden where the cats from the house could hang out and enjoy some time away from their dog siblings.

But things took a turn when one cat had simply had enough of the overcrowding. This cat wanted to stay with the neighbor rather than return home. Naturally, this situation became tense. After all, it must be difficult for any pawrent to see their pet prefer someone else over them.

Still, this situation is a reminder that we must always consider our pets’ needs—needs they clearly express in their own ways.
