Popular reality show **Bigg Boss 19**, hosted by Salman Khan, is reportedly facing legal trouble over the alleged unauthorized use of two songs.

### Legal Notice from Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL)

Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL), India’s oldest licensing organization, has sent a legal notice to the producers of Bigg Boss 19. The notice alleges that Episode 11 of the show featured the songs **”Chikni Chameli”** from *Agneepath* and **”Dhat Tere Ki”** from *Gori Tere Pyaar Mein* without obtaining the necessary permissions.

### Demand for Damages and License Fees

PPL is demanding ₹2 crore in damages and license fees from the show’s makers for this alleged copyright infringement. The notice, served by advocate Hiten Ajay Wasan on September 19, accuses Endemol Shine India, the production company behind Bigg Boss, of using the sound recordings without securing a public performance license.

A source from PPL’s legal team informed *Mid-Day* that both songs are licensed to Sony Music Entertainment India. Sony is one of more than 450 music labels whose public performance rights are administered by PPL.

### Cease and Desist Notice Issued

In addition to the financial demand, PPL has issued a cease and desist notice to Bigg Boss 19’s producers, instructing them to stop using the recordings without authorization. The organization highlights that Endemol Shine India did not obtain a license under Section 30 of the Copyright Act, 1957, which constitutes “willful infringement.”

### Show Continues to Air

Despite these ongoing legal issues, Bigg Boss 19 continues to air on **Colors TV** at 10:30 PM and streams on **JioHotstar** at 9:00 PM.
