bp pulls out of Rotterdam renewable diesel project after Shell and UPM
In the Netherlands, The Telegraaf newspaper reports that BP is pulling the plug on its plans for a biofuels plant in the Europoort area of Rotterdam.
The decision has been met with disappointment among the staff. One employee remarked, “This was the last green project in the Netherlands we had.”
As a result of this cancellation, approximately one hundred jobs are reportedly set to disappear.
BP operates one of the largest refineries in the region, making this development significant for both the company and the local community.
