**Singer Zubeen Garg Passes Away in Singapore; Nation Mourns Loss**

Renowned singer Zubeen Garg tragically passed away in Singapore on Friday, September 19, leaving the entire country in shock. His sudden demise has deeply saddened fans, family, and the music fraternity alike.

On Sunday morning, Zubeen’s mortal remains arrived in Guwahati and were subsequently brought to his residence. Family members and close relatives gathered to pay their final tribute to the beloved artist.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the last rites of Zubeen Garg will take place on September 23. Speaking to the media on Sunday, the CM shared details regarding the post-mortem report and the death certificate of the singer.

According to the Chief Minister, the death certificate, which was received from the Singapore High Commission, mentions “drowning” as the cause of death. However, the post-mortem report is still awaited.

> “The post-mortem report is different, and the death certificate is different. We will send the documents to CID. The Chief Secretary of the Assam Government is contacting the Singapore Ambassador to get the post-mortem report as soon as possible,” Sarma said, as reported by ANI.

Zubeen Garg, popularly known for his hit song “Ya Ali,” reportedly passed away while scuba diving in Singapore. The Northeast India Festival organisers, which Zubeen had travelled to attend, confirmed that he experienced breathing difficulties during the activity.

The Assam Chief Minister further revealed that he is in touch with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding arrangements for Zubeen’s final journey.

> “Amit Shah called me 2-3 times today and inquired about our management for the final journey of Zubeen Garg. He also advised us and assured his support,” Sarma stated.

Zubeen’s mortal remains were first flown to Delhi before being transported to Assam on a commercial flight that landed in Guwahati on Sunday morning.

Thousands of fans gathered to pay their last respects to the iconic singer, with several emotional visuals surfacing on social media, reflecting the deep impact Zubeen Garg had on his admirers.

The nation mourns the loss of a talented artist whose voice touched millions, and his legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire.
